Watching the Cowboys with my people
Thanks to the wonder of the Internet, I was with people who were in as a precarious state as I was. We high-fived, we fist bumped and we paced. All in the name of the Dallas Cowboys and the fear of 2-2 and Monday morning. Continue reading

My very late take on Pearlman’s “Boys Will Be Boys”
Of the Dallas Cowboys of the 1990’s I remember little. What I do remember wasn’t great, good or even a good effort.
I missed out on the “Good Ole days” of Aikman, Smith, Irvin and Johnston. But I don’t know if should even call them the “good” days after reading Jeff Pearlman’s book “Boys Will Be Boys: The Glory Days and Party Nights of the Dallas Cowboys Dynasty.” Continue reading

Wade Phillips, coaching records and not labeling tweets
I returned home today from a long afternoon of traversing Indianapolis to find a place to get an oil change and a car wash (the latter impossible in our post-snow storm world) to find I had accidentally started a media … Continue reading

The Week that was for a Dallas Cowboys Fan
A bit of advice kids: never drive and listen to your favorite sports team on the radio. More importantly, never listen to your favorite team play through the lens of their bitter rival’s radio broadcast. This is only recommended as … Continue reading

Thanksgiving Memories (The Football Kind)
The fourth week in November. You know, the week with Thanksgiving. The week devoted to pulling teeth in order to get in one central location: your extended family, the family you tolerate and the family you vaguely remember from the … Continue reading

That New Season Feel
You smell that? That’s the smell of optimism. Actually, I don’t know if a state of mind can have a scent, but if it did, I’d like to think it’s the smell of freshly cut grass/turf/whatever your favorite football team … Continue reading

End of an Era: 19 going on 20
This is it folks. The last day of the greatest chapter of my life so far is now under way. I’ve already graduated from High School and I won’t be walking down the graduation aisle in college till 2013. So what day is it? … Continue reading

Burning Love
No, this post isn’t about romance or love (though you never know what I’ll write when Valentines Day comes around), it’s just about my return to school for the spring (yet it feels like deep winter) semester at college. The … Continue reading
