Day 4: My Night in Mobile

So I’ve already done more in my two nights in Mobile than I did in my entire trip here last year. Friday night I went to the Mobile Greyhound Park, a dog racing track about 10 miles outside of the city, for the Bowl games media reception dinner.

I placed my first ever bet. I picked the two dogs with the best odds and the dog with the worst odds to show. I got $4 of the six i bet back plus .50 back in winnings.

Today after about 3 hours of writing the game preview in the lobby of a downtown hotel (my own hotels wifi is out of commision) I skipped out on the bowl parade in favor of checking out The Crescent theater on Dauphin.

The Crescent is a one screen cinema thats showing Django Unchained.
I’ve already seen it but I mainly went to experience the theatre, which is kind of like the Moolah in St. Louis. It costs $10 for a tickets and another five for a beer if you want one.
Tomorrow will be my last time to cover an ASU football game as a member of the Herald (stickin graduation). I’m calmly nervous. If we don’t win, it’ll feel like we’re in some endless loop we can never get out of. If we win, it’s a huge weight off our chests. Good luck to all the Red Wolves tonight.
